There are a lot of things to learn, grasp and observe as you go along learning the theories of design.
Design is not just about using colors, shapes, making beautiful User Interfaces. You need to understand the business strategies, their needs, user goals to solve their problems, how other products are build through observation.
These are the side but important attributes to learn as you go along learning the basis of UI/UX Design like wireframing, prototyping, creating user journey maps, information architecture, etc.
Learn and practice these skills along as you learn UX Design:
